Frequently Asked Questions
-
Q: What type of workshops do you offer?A: I run seasonal, tailor-made, beginner and family-friendly hands-on workshops focused on sustainable gardening, food growing, and creative eco-living. These include seed bomb making, seed harvesting, composting, herb propagation, garden planting, secondhand clothes swapping, and more.
-
Q: Are children allowed?A: Both community and tailored sessions are beginner and family friendly. However, if you are booking a tailored session, please mention this during planning so that I can ensure all requested activities are suitable. Children must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
-
Q: How much do the workshops cost?A: Prices for tailored workshops and sessions vary depending on the type of session, length, number of attendees, location, materials included, and admin required. To discuss your ideas and receive a quote, please email me directly. Alternatively, free community workshops, events, and volunteer drop-in sessions are available at R-Urban's eco-civic hub, based in Poplar. You can find more details about these on the R-Urban website.
-
Q: Do I need to have done gardening before to join?A: Not at all! My sessions are designed for all experience levels, especially beginners. Whether you’re planting your first seed or already growing at home, you’re very welcome. I focus on making gardening feel simple, calming, and accessible, even if you’re working with a balcony or a windowsill.
-
Q: When is your next workshop running?A: Tailored workshops and private events organised through Little Forest Owl are not publicly listed, unless the organiser has asked me to promote their session, which I’ll usually share on my Instagram page. Free community events and workshops at R-Urban Poplar are listed on their website. You're welcome to check their listings for what's coming up.
-
Q: Do you offer volunteering or training opportunities?A: Yes! I support community volunteering and green skills learning, through my work at R-Urban Poplar, where I help run drop-in gardening sessions and guide local volunteers through practical, hands-on food growing activities. It’s a welcoming, informal space to learn by doing, no previous experience needed. If you’re interested in gaining experience, learning new skills, or just spending more time outdoors, visit the R-Urban Poplar website to check for upcoming volunteer sessions. For tailored sessions, please contact me directly to discuss availability.
